Unfazed by their physical disability, the contestants flexed their muscles and put up a good show during the bodybuilding demonstration. Their dedication and spirited performance earned them wide praise from the audience at Bhatka Ramadasu Kala Kshetram here.

Yashwanth Kumar Hirwani, a physically challenged contestant from Dhamtari in Chhattisgarh, was one among the talented bodybuilders who had received much appreciation from the audience. Hirwani won a gold medal in the physically challenged category at the national-level bodybuilding contest held in Maharashtra last year.

“I developed penchant for bodybuilding ever since my brother Ramesh Kumar won the Mr Chhattisgarh title in general category several years ago,” Yashwanth said.

Speaking to The Hindu , he said, “I had devoted most of my leisure time in mastering the art in a local gym under the supervision of my brother. I won several medals in the State level and national level bodybuilding contests,” and exuding confidence said that he will emerge triumphant in the final round (physically challenged category) of the current championship slated to be held late on Sunday night.
