Job fair offers hope to differently abled people !

With the hope of living a life of dignity and self respect, around 50 differently-abled candidates participated in a job fair meant specifically for them - 'Ability 2013', held at National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training and Research (NIITTR), Chandigarh, and organised in association with the Confederation Of Indian Industries (CII), North Region.

The initiative aimed at providing equal opportunity to differently-abled persons, and empower them by providing them with gainful employment. 11 companies took part this year to provide the same, such as Competent Synergies, IBM Global Process Services, Ace Hospital, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, Jubilant Food Works (master franchisee of Dominos International) etc.

32 of the candidates got shortlisted by various companies for various job roles such as those of customer care executives, mechanical engineers, fitters, electricians, packers. 65 % of the candidates that participated were orthopedically challenged, 10 % were hearing impaired and 25% of them were visually challenged.
