Police have arrested two persons, including a woman, in a rape case of a physically-challenged minor girl in Tarn Taran district. The woman helped the accused man violate the 13-year-old girl for money at her house. The girl was raped a month ago but her parents lodged a complaint on April 17, following which a case of rape and conspiracy was registered against the accused.
The accused, identified as Gursewak Singh and Raj Kaur, residents of the same village, were arrested on April 18.
Bhikhiwind SHO Sukhdev Singh said on Tuesday that the victim's parents had accused their neighbour Gursewak of rape. Investigations revealed that Raj had lured the girl to her, house where the accused raped her. The SHO added that the medical examination of the girl confirmed rape.
