Rape of physically challenged girls: Chief trustee named as accused

The Pune Rural Police have included the name of chief trustee of Bhausaheb Bora Apang Kalyan Kendra as an accused in the rape case of two physically challenged girls.

Confirming the development, Pune Rural SP Manoj Kumar Lohia said that the name of trustee Ashok Bora has been included as an accused and he will be arrested soon.

The Rural Police have invoked the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, and already arrested school principal Vasant Gite in connection with the rape.

The rural police had arrested school peon Mahadev Borhade last Wednesday, on charges of raping two physically challenged girls. The police are now trying to find out if any more girls were molested or raped. Borhade had allegedly sexually assaulted the two girls last week. The school which is located in a small hamlet called Ane in Junnar taluka of the district has a total of 57 girl students and 123 boys, who are mostly from poor families.
