Kudumbashree in Kannur to announce 100 per cent inclusion : Kochi

Agriculture minister K P Mohanan will inaugurate the 15th anniversary of the Kudumbashree in Kannur district on May 13, where he will also announce the hundred percent inclusion of the families from the BPL, SC/ST and minority communities as well as the physically challenged people into KudumbashreeAyalkootams

According to M V Premarajan, the district mission coordinator of Kudumbashree, the State Poverty Eradication Mission, the campaign for 100 percent inclusion in the district had started in 2012 November and all the Community Development Society (CDS) completed the process by January 26, 2013. There are a total of 87 CDS in the district. 


He also said the state-level celebrations as part of the 15th anniversary of Kudumbashree will be held at Kozhikode from May 17 to 19, where the awards to the best performing CDSs would be presented. In the district, Chengalayi, Ulikkal, Kolacherry, Thillankery and Cherukunnu CDSs, were selected as the best performing ones in the panchayath level, while Koothuparamba municipality bagged the award among the CDS in municipalities.

A theatre festival will also be organized as part of the function from which one play will be selected for the state-level competition. Various arts and sports competition and also antiliquor campaign, and campaign to spread awareness about epidemics will also be organized by Kudumbashree in all panchayaths.
