CM said that the pending posts of physically challenged
persons will be filled through PSC soon. All the LSGs should follow
this, said CM and added that Government will give help to those charity
organizations that render service to these people. He was inaugurating
the distribution of motorized tri scooters at Kakkanad district
panchayath hall.
CM said that this government has filled 1188 posts reserved for the
physically challenged persons. Now the Government has identified persons
who have worked on contract basis in government organizations to give
permanent postings. 2677 persons would get the benefit of this, said CM.
The demand for motorized tri scooters came up in the Mass contact
Programmes. At first tri scooters were distributed for 18 persons with
the help of Cochin shipyard. As Government don’t have such a scheme,
district panchayaths were asked to take up this project. Last yeat tri
scooters were distributed by Trivandrum, Pathanamthitta district
panchayats by including it under the scheme.
It is through actions and not words that help should be rendered to
the physically challenged, said the CM. MLAS and others were also part
of the function.
