The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is pushing forward to make
Bangkok a “metropolis of opportunities” by adding 350 wheelchair ramps
for the disabled, which is scheduled to be finished in 2015.
According to the Director General of the Bangkok Metropolitan Construction and Renovation Office, the BMA is set to renovate and add more wheelchair ramps on current footpaths in order to better accommodate the disabled.
The project is set to be completed by 2015.
Moreover, to improve the city’s scenery and image, the BMA has planned to commission a company to put Bangkok’s cumbersome and tangled electric cables underground - starting with Sanam Chai Road and Khao San Road.
