In another shocking incident a physically challenged girl was raped at Jamajhari village in Kandhamal District and a person was arrested in this connection on Monday.
According to sources, a married 26 year -old person and father of a two year- old child, Sujit Kumar Dehuri was arrested on charges of raping a deaf and dumb girl on January 29, while the 18 year-old girl was alone in her house.
Dehuri, belonging to the same village had found the girl alone in the house while he had entered the house to drink water and committed the crime, alleged the girl’s mother. When she confronted Dehuri on this matter he had attacked and threatened her, said the police.
Medical tests of the victim and the accused was done and further steps will be taken after getting the reports, said police.
