Pune emerge champions in state sports meet for disabled - NAGPUR

Pune district emerged overall champions in the Maharashtra State Sports Meet For Disabled which concluded at the Reshimbag ground here on Friday.

The two-day meet was organized jointly by Prabhakarrao Datke Memorial Service Institution and state government's Social Justice Ministry.

Pune clinched the general championship on the basis of their excellent performances by their athletes in the deaf and dumb and specially abled categories.

Athletes from hosts Nagpur, Usmanabad and Ahmednagar districts also emerged winners in other categories of the physically challenged event.
State minister Thawarchand Gehlot, MP Ajay Sancheti, guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, mayor Pravin Datke and others distributed the prizes.
